Overview:

We are looking to develop a Technical Apprentice to work with our Technical team within our busy Service-desk at our HQ in Northwich, Cheshire.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure customers are at the centre of all operational decisions through outstanding customer service.  
  • Managing first line Incidents
  • IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications, operating systems and network level connectivity issues
  • Trouble shooting of client machines & Basic admin tasks
  • Call Escalation and management to key partners (Microsoft, HP etc.)
  • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Manage the escalation of calls within internal departments in order to meet Service Level Agreements.

Other abilities required:

  • Enthusiasm for Microsoft Office programmes. 
  • Willingness to learn about Microsoft’s core business applications and desktop machine operating systems, WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
  • Evidence of working within a team, supporting and working with others to reach organisational goals. 
  • Basic computer and operating system knowledge
  • Effective communication and administrative skills
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, active listening and customer-care
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly, planning and prioritising workload. 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment

Entry requirements: 

You need to have 5 GCSE’s:

  • Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above
  • 3x GCSE’s grade A-C in any other subject

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
