Overview:

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual who has a real flair for technology and thrives on providing exemplary customer service for a 15-month IT Apprenticeship for an expanding Group of IT companies continually making new acquisitions with aspirations to be on the Top 100 IT Services list globally.

The apprenticeship position will be based at The Charter School in East Dulwich as we support the IT infrastructure for over 100 schools in the London area, so you will be exposed to learning how school IT infrastructure works and help to support the learning of pupils in an educational environment and get the support from an excellent well skills team of IT specialists.

Your future aspirations might be to get involved in designing what the IT infrastructure should look like in new schools of the future since one of the group companies does this in partnership with the prime building contractors of new schools, academies and trusts.

Key accountabilities:

  • Ownership and initiative: Take ownership of problems and proactively resolve incidents or changes allocated by the Service Manager.
  • Service focus: Maintain focus on the whole life of service delivery: from the first touch point to the closure of the incident.
  • Team: Supporting the team to build a culture of continuous improvement.

Key challenges:

  • Maintain a close view of service incidents and their impacts on BAU activities.
  • Accurately document and record IT services to support our remote and local team.
  • Be responsive to requests for support whilst delivering against agreed SLA’s and objectives.

Skills and Personal qualities: [we are looking for someone with experience in the following:]

  • Proficient in Microsoft technologies
  • Willing to learn any bespoke software systems of the various schools
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must be able to follow instructions and document processes

Also, you must be excited and committed to begin an IT career.

 

The schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The successful candidate will be subject to an extended DBS check.

Entry requirements: 

You need to have 5 GCSE’s: 

  • Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above
  • 3x GCSE’s grade A-C in any other subject

You must not already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level, or higher level than this apprenticeship.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working week:

5 days a week, 8am - 4:30pm.
